Melissa Owen

Prior to becoming a baker, Melissa attended the University of Oregon and studied Fine Art Photography. She has lived around the globe including Greece, Bahrain and Egypt. Melissa attended culinary school at Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts in Vancouver, BC and worked at several bakeries in Vancouver including the Vancouver Art Gallery Cafe. In 2006 she relocated to Nelson and started Epiphany Cakes. Melissa loves pugs, ceramics, sunshine, photography, camping and flipping through cookbooks. She has been gluten-free for over a decade and is passionate about developing delicious GF recipes for the bakery. When she is not at work, Melissa can be found staying cozy and hanging out with her family. Melissa’s first cookbook, Epiphany Bakes (TouchWood Editions) will be available October 15, 2024.

Ysauld de Montigny

Ysauld is our Production Manager. She grew up across the street from Epiphany Cakes and did a bit of work with us when she was a teenager. Before starting work at Epiphany, she studied Culinary Arts at Selkirk College and spent a few years in New Zealand working as a baker and pastry chef. Her interests include snowboarding, hiking, birdwatching, and quilting, and pottery.

Chloe Hamilton

Chloe is our friendly face at the Cake Window, and she does a ton to help us out behind the scenes, including packaging, organizing, and prep work. Chloe has been working at Epiphany since 2022. She is currently studying psychology at university. We’re so glad that she’s back with us at Epiphany for the summer. Chloe loves clod plunges in Kootenay Lake, and Taylor Swift.
